G20 summit: All Delhi schools and government offices will remain closed from 8th to 10th September 2023

Areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) are expected to be out of bounds for the public on September 8, 9, and 10 in light of the keenest event G-20 Summit. Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal announced the public holiday from 8 to 10 September.

Additional restrictions for traffic are also likely to be put in from 8th to 10th September.

“The file on the police proposal was forwarded by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to the Delhi chief minister for his approval. After the chief minister‘s approval, it would be sent for the LG’s nod,” an official said.

All the schools including private and government will remain closed during the given time, this time period will also include the Delhi government offices and municipal corporations of Delhi also the established commercials in Delhi police districts, said officials.

As per the reports published by Times of India Entry of heavy vehicles will be restrained during the days of the summit, only heavy vehicles carrying essential goods will be allowed. The general public will also face traffic restrictions for two days of the G20 summit.

According to some sources, high-profile dignitaries such as UK PM Rishi Sunak, Canada PM Justin Trudeau, and others will come and stay in Lutyens’. The nearby area around might get restricted for the general public.

Delhi traffic police haven’t given any notice of such details yet.

G20 is a world economic summit where 19 countries including the European Union come together and represent 85% of the world’s GDP and two-thirds of the world’s population. This summit is to discuss the economic challenges all around the globe and how they can be solved. This will ensure that the world will involve more in economic collaboration between different countries.

G20 was founded in 1999 by the finance ministers and central bank governors to discuss economic problems and ways to overcome from them

One of the major topics that will be covered at the summit is the climatic change and disasters which are created due to that. They will make new rules and regulations to make sure our environment is safe.

The other topic to be covered will be the pandemic and its worst effect, all the leaders will exchange thoughts on how they can create more jobs for the youth. Their main focus will be on implementing trade and investment activities and also will address the challenges faced by small or medium-sized businesses.

The G20 summit is held every year and this time 19 countries are participating in it which includes Australia, Indonesia, Argentina, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Turkiye, the United Kingdom, The Republic of Korea, India, China, Germany, France, Brazil, Italy, Russia.

It’s diversity in participants makes sure that the ideas can be entertained from all perspectives around the globe and the right decision can be make for the betterment of the world.

This year G20 will be held in India on the theme of ‘One Earth One Future One Family’. This theme is an indicator that every life on earth matters and we must respect every creature on this globe.
