The man of CSK- MS Dhoni finally retires after the 2023 IPL Title win:
After Chennai Super Kings won a record-equaling fifth championship, MS Dhoni gave a significant update about his IPL career, according to NDTV Sports Live. Regarding his potential retirement after long years of service in the Indian Cricket Team, the man has provided a massive update regarding his journey of life.
CSK defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets (DLS) on Tuesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the fifth time. The CSK skipper, MS Dhoni, who equalled Rohit Sharma as the captain with the most IPL titles, commented that announcing his retirement will be the ‘easy thing’. He has also said that he wants to train for the next nine months and try to play in the next season as a ‘gift’ for his sons.
Dhoni said that this is probably the best time of his life to announce retirement. He said that with the amount of love and affection that has been bestowed upon him, wherever he has been this year, it is easy to say ‘Thank you very much’ to all. The challenging thing will be for him to put in more effort for nine months, then return and play in at least one more IPL season. It depends a lot on the body and he will require another 6 to 7 months to decide this. The way fans and crickets lovers have shown their affection for him, although it is harder for him to say to retire, he still has to do something about these people who still aspire to see him play back. He commented on all these at the post-match presentation.
Dhoni feels emotional but he says he needs to take some time off in the dugout and feels that he relay needs to cherish this part of his life. People love him for the way he has been all these years and his style of play, no doubt, has been inspiring for many young players. He feels grounded and he proudly commented that never in his life has he portrayed something that he isn’t. Being simple is his style. Every trophy he won so far at the IPL has reminded him of every game that he has played and of the next game for which he has to be ready and prepared.
