Pankaj Verma | BuildX.Homes
Building a home is one of the most significant and personal investments a family will ever make. Yet, in major markets like Bangalore, this journey is fraught with frustration, confusion, and a lack of accountability, dominated by fragmented contractors and unpredictable processes. This challenging landscape has left many plot owners, especially NRIs and families, searching for a reliable, structured partner they can truly trust with their most valuable asset.
BuildX.Homes was founded to bring structure to this chaos. The company is led by Co-Founder & Vice President, Pankaj Verma, whose own experience of walking away from a land opportunity due to the construction ecosystem’s complexity became the mission. Realizing that ordinary families had no reliable support system, he founded BuildX.Homes, combining the 41-year engineering legacy of the Shilpa Group with modern technology.
This unique combination allows BuildX.Homes to follow an engineering-led construction model. They replace guesswork with system-driven delivery, using a technology dashboard to track daily progress, quality checks (including NDT for concrete strength), and timelines—even guaranteeing a penalty for late completion. This makes sure that your home is built responsibly, carefully, and exactly as promised.Pankaj Verma’s story reveals how personal frustration can be transformed into a powerful, trustworthy business.

FOUNDER’S MESSAGE
By Pankaj Verma, Co-Founder & Vice President, BuildX.Homes
Building a home is one of the most personal journeys in someone’s life. Yet for most families, the process feels confusing, overwhelming, and lonely. My own story began in 2002 when I came across a plot in HSR Layout priced at around ₹400–₹500 per sq. ft. I walked away—not because I didn’t want a home, but because I didn’t understand construction. I didn’t know any architects or contractors. I didn’t understand the approval process, material quality, structural steps, or what checks mattered. There was no reliable, structured company that could take responsibility end-to-end.
Today, that same land is worth nearly ₹25,000 per sq. ft.
But what stayed with me wasn’t the financial loss—
It was the realization that ordinary families like mine had no support system in the most emotional and financially significant project of their life.
That experience became the seed of BuildX.Homes.
We created BuildX.Homes to ensure no family loses an opportunity, a dream, or their peace of mind simply because the home construction ecosystem is unstructured.
We built a platform that empowers people even before they become our customers. A platform where they can discover their design style through a visual Style Discovery Quiz… Explore 50,000+ curated home designs… estimate construction costs with absolute clarity… understand stage-by-stage checklists… and access a complete digital vault of documents, drawings, layouts, and agreements.
For our customers, the platform becomes a powerful project companion—offering daily site updates, photos and videos, milestone tracking, payment transparency, issue raising and tracking, and complete accountability at every step.
Technology for us isn’t a fancy add-on.
It is the foundation of transparency.
But technology alone isn’t enough.
BuildX.Homes stands on the 41-year engineering legacy of the Shilpa Group, which has delivered more than 220+ million sq. ft. in Bangalore—including Nexus Shantiniketan Mall, PES University blocks, Jain Heritage School, Salarpuria Sattva Nova, Prestige Tech Pacific, Cash Pharmacy Building, and the Passport Office.
We bring that same commercial-grade expertise to individual homes: structural audits, RCC detailing checks, waterproofing protocols, material authentication, and even NDT tests to verify that the concrete strength matches structural design—something almost unheard of in home construction.
For us, quality is not just what you see.
It’s what holds your home together for decades.
But beyond engineering and tech, what makes a home truly beautiful is how deeply it resonates with the family living in it. One of our customers—a three-generation family—told us at handover,
“This home feels like us.”
That sentence captures our purpose.
As we expand from Bengaluru to Chennai and Hyderabad, our focus remains steady—not to become the biggest, but to become the most trusted.
Because the real foundation of a home is not concrete or steel.
It is peace of mind.
Warm regards,
Pankaj Verma
Co-Founder & Vice President, BuildX.Homes
Pankaj Verma’s story reveals the emotional and engineering DNA behind BuildX.Homes. In this exclusive interaction with Prime Insights, he walks us through the company’s mission, innovations, and the future of tech-enabled homebuilding in India.

Strategic Advisory Leadership
BuildX.Homes benefits from four decades of experienced strategic guidance provided by Mr. Sunil Sharma, Group Strategic Advisor at the Shilpa Group of Companies, Bangalore, and Co-Founder & Strategic Adviser at BuildX.Homes. His insights help strengthen organisational structure, governance, and long-term strategic clarity for the brand.
Prime Insights: Could you introduce your company and its mission in the tech-enabled home construction space?
BuildX.Homes is a turnkey home construction company backed by the 41-year engineering legacy of the Shilpa Group, which has completed more than 220 million sq. ft. across India—including malls, tech parks, villas, hotels, and landmark buildings like Nexus Shantiniketan Mall, Prestige Tech Pacific, Salarpuria Sattva Nova, PES University blocks, Cash Pharmacy, and the Passport Office.

Leadership Behind BuildX.Homes
BuildX.Homes is an extension of the Shilpa Group’s 41 years of legacy in construction excellence.
The vision to bring commercial-grade engineering discipline to individual homeowners was championed by Mr. Ramchandra Tallam, Managing Director of the Shilpa Group, who has led the organisation through several landmark real estate and infrastructure projects across Bengaluru.
His belief that families deserve the same standards of structural safety, engineering rigor, and project reliability that large developers expect has shaped the BuildX.Homes foundation and long-term direction
“Our goal was simple— bring the discipline of large-scale construction into the homes of everyday families.”
— Mr. Ram, Managing Director, Shilpa Group

The inspiration comes from my own life.
In 2002, I walked away from a great opportunity in HSR Layout simply because I didn’t understand construction. There was no clarity, no education, and no reliable partner.

Technology became our way to educate, empower, and protect homeowners—so no family ever loses an opportunity or suffers stress the way I did.
