MR. PRATAP MENDONCA: Bringing Needed Change in The Interior Design and Fit out Industry

MR. PRATAP MENDONCA

One of the best firms of its kind, Design Infinity LLC, operates out of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The firm was founded in 2012 and offered comprehensive turnkey solutions and high-end interior services for commercial workplaces in various industries. The firm is run by highly skilled interior designers and architects from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Large-scale design and fit-out projects are the company’s forte. They have a proven track record of success throughout the United Arab Emirates thanks to their 650+ strong workforce. The firm has had tremendous year-over-year development since its inception in 2012, and its staff comprises interior professionals and in-house MEP and IT experts. The business also has a large joinery factory that covers more than 60,000 square feet, along with separate divisions for glass and metal works.

Pratap Mendonca (Managing Partner) decided to establish a business after over 13 years of working in the interior design and furniture industries. In 2012 July, along with my wife Scytle Fernandes ( Architect ) and Geetha Nayak ( Architect ) founded Design Infinity. Since its inception, the company has grown from 2 persons to team of 650 plus and has completed over 600 projects across UAE.

Challenges Facing the Leader

Mr. Pratap Mendonca tackles several daily challenges as a team leader of 650 individuals and a US$ 100 million annual revenues. In his mind, it’s all in a day’s work, so he takes things as they come. Mr. Pratap works roughly 12 plus hours a day during the week. He then spends his time outside the workplace playing with his children, Siana (15) and Sinon (11), and taking walks with his wife, Scytle. Each weekend, he makes time to hang out with his loved ones. Competition for leadership positions is prevalent. Building a more significant business is fantastic, but keeping that expansion going is difficult. The “It’s Okay” mentality has to be more practical and palatable. Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Virgin Group’s Sir Richard Branson, Tata Group’s Ratan Tata, Tesla’s Elon Musk, Wipro’s Azeem Premji and Ali Baba’s Jack Ma are just a few of the world’s most successful business Mr. Pratap looks up to. He encourages people to think big, put in long hours, and make a difference in the world.
