The Brand’s Inception Story

Jade Global is the brainchild of Karan Yaramada. He founded the company in 2003, after having worked for nearly 11 years in the IT industry. When he realized how IT services were gaining more global recognition, he quit his secured IT position and became the first employee and CEO of Jade Global. Despite having worked with big names in the industry like Tata Consultancy Services, General Electric, and KPMG, he worked independently with no paycheques for the first three months.
This was, without a doubt, one of the biggest risks he had taken during his career. “There was an opportunity in the market to start an IT services company that had the culture, competitive pricing, and benefits of a boutique firm, but at the same time could provide customers with large-scale IT projects,” says Karan.
Initially, Karan spent most of his time working simultaneously on three Oracle upgrade projects, making progress with each passing year. Jade Global expanded its offerings, including enterprise business application implementations, software engineering, cloud services, and so on.
Once the company kickstarted its sales, there was no looking back. It embarked on another major physical expansion by establishing a second US headquarter on the East Coast in Philadelphia through acquisition. In 2019, the company established offices in Vienna, Austria, and Toronto. One of the company’s most significant milestones is the establishment of Jade Global’s R&D Unit: Jade Labs, a locus of innovation that adds a unique flavour to its partner offerings.

Early Struggles

Every entrepreneur has to face specific challenges during the ideation stage of their business. When asked about the struggles he had to endure, Karan stated, “Looking back on how we started Jade Global from the ground up, going from 1-10 was much easier than going from 10-20 in terms of stages in the company. It was tough to hire, trust, coach, and train the right people, but it has been even more challenging to scale the business. “

Ensuring Employee Satisfaction amid The Pandemic

Karan attributes his company’s success to his dedicated and hard-working employees. Even during the pandemic, the Jade Global employees were extremely cooperative and gave 100% towards the company’s progress. “We had almost unknowingly been preparing for this period over the past few years. We went on to become a 100% remote workforce almost overnight without any glitches. This was possible because all our employees had company-issued laptops and secured VPN Access; everything was on the cloud, including our office collaboration suite, time and billing system, and network security,” states Karan.
To ensure utmost safety and protection, Karan and his leadership team formulated the ‘3Ps Ethos at Work’ in the first virtual meeting during the pandemic. The 3Ps Approach is:

Protect: All the decisions and actions taken in the company must prioritize the employee’s protection, health, and safety. Also, these decisions must not cause disruptions to the customers’ business.

Preserve: Every member of the company must aim to preserve what the company stands for. Values like integrity, morals, ethics, and the highest standards towards customers and employees must be maintained at all times.

Promote: Ideas of being resourceful and compassionate towards the customers and the employees must be promoted.
Per the 3 Ps approach, Jade Global declared a work from home policy in their US and India offices two weeks before the Government of India announced its first lockdown. Even now, the employees continue to preserve and demonstrate the same work ethic they did during the pre-pandemic days.
“We urged all managers to reach out to every team member so that we had an open line of communication between all employees. We were able to gain insight into the challenges of all employees and take the appropriate steps to solve these issues,” he adds.

Donating basic amenities to Children Living in Poverty in Inner City Philadelphia
Jade Global’s East Coast employees volunteer at ‘Cradles to Crayons’, a non-profit organization established to make life better for children in need. ‘Cradles to Crayons’ provides children living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive- at home, school and play.
The company’s employees spend their volunteer days in the Philadelphia warehouse sorting through toy donations, clothing, and other goods that go to local children living in poverty.

Providing essentials to Children and Families Impacted by HIV/AIDS in India
“No one should go hungry”,, a slogan Jade Global swears by. The company’s India offices support the DESIRE Society, a non-profit NGO organization focused on the health development and well-being of children infected and affected by HIV and AIDS in India.
The company’s employees in India collect and donate essential food items to Institutional Care Homes. These shelters are specially built for the children who’re abandoned and orphaned because of HIV/AIDS.

Offering Packaged Fresh Food and Handing Out Clothes to Underprivileged Individuals and Families in San Jose, California.
To prepare for the holiday season, Jade Global employees at the company’s San Jose Headquarters volunteered at Sacred Heart Community Service to sort vegetables and hand out clothes to those in need in the local community. Chiguru 2019: An Annual Event to Showcase Hidden Talents
‘Chiguru’ is the Annual Event of Youth for Seva held across 5 locations in India. Chiguru, which translates to “budding”, is a flagship initiative by Youth for Seva. It provides a unique platform for students from Government schools to showcase their inbuilt talents in academics, sports and arts. It serves as a platform for underprivileged children to showcase their cultural and creative talents across categories, including street play, Rangoli, yoga, dance, drawing, etc.

  • 3500 Children participated, 135 Prizes
  • 150 Government schools and slums and 93 buses were provided for transportation.
  • 1000 Volunteers from 23 Corporates and 5 Colleges were present
  • 5 Competitions in 3 different categories were conducted – Educational, Cultural and Sports
  • 3000 kids had lunch as ‘Pankti bhojan’ at one go served by 500 volunteers.
