My career trajectory in healthcare leadership has been shaped by the conviction that healthcare must blend clinical excellence with operational discipline and human empathy. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work in multi-location hospital systems and international healthcare markets, providing me with a broader perspective on how strong governance and patient-centric systems can change outcomes for the better. As Facility Director of Specialized Najran Hospital(Operation & Management Partnership with Marengo Asia Hospitals), my focus is to translate that experience into a high performing healthcare environment that serves patients with quality, care and dignity.
Prime Insights: What’s your definition of medical excellence in today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape?
Medical excellence today is not only about advanced treatment, it is about the right care, at the right time, with the right outcomes, with safety, compassion and trust. In a rapidly-changing health care ecosystem, excellence also involves adopting evidence-based practices, enhancing multidisciplinary teamwork and leveraging technology to enhance access and continuity of care. At Marengo, we measure excellence not only in clinical outcomes, but also in the patient experience we create.
Prime Insights: What are some of the key challenges you faced in managing a healthcare institution? How did you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare leadership is to balance quality, access, affordability and sustainability, while maintaining high operational standards. This requires clear governance, efficient processes, empowered teams and a constant eye on patient expectations in a complex hospital environment. We address these challenges by maintaining our focus on the patient-first philosophy, investing in strong systems, and building a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Prime Insights: What are your strategies for maintaining high standards of patient care, safety and operational efficiency throughout your hospital?
We do this through rigorous clinical governance, standardised care pathways, continuous monitoring and close collaboration between doctors, nurses and support teams. Every process incorporates patient safety, and disciplined management and prudent use of resources enhance operational efficiency. We want to ensure that patients feel confident, cared for, and respected at every stage of their journey.

Prime Insights: How do you build a culture of compassion, collaboration and continuous improvement in your medical teams?
Common purpose and mutual respect are the bedrock of a strong healthcare culture. We encourage our teams to work collaboratively, learn all the time and put empathy at the center of every patient interaction. When clinicians, administrators and support teams are aligned on the same mission, the hospital becomes not just a place of treatment, but a place of trust and healing.

Research and innovation are critical to developing a healthcare institution that remains relevant, credible and future-ready. Advanced medical practices improve outcomes, and continuous learning ensures our teams are prepared to address the changing needs of our patients. For us, growth is meaningful only if it increases capability, improves clinical quality and expands access to advanced care.
Prime Insights: What milestone or achievement best represents your hospital’s excellence in patient care?
Another important milestone is being part of a cross-border healthcare partnership designed to enhance quaternary care access in Saudi Arabia. The creation of Centres of Excellence at Najran is a reflection of Marengo’s commitment to developing advanced outcome-oriented care closer to the community. These types of initiatives matter because they represent growth but also trust, ability and long-term value to the patient.

To stay ahead, we need to adapt, govern well and learn. Healthcare regulations change, patient expectations increase, and medical innovation is fast-paced. Prime Insights: What leadership values guide your decision making in a high pressure healthcare environment?
My leadership is based on integrity, accountability, empathy and clarity of purpose. Healthcare decisions should always protect the patient, but also support the greater mission of the institution. I think the best leaders are those who stay calm under pressure, listen well, and act with both conviction and compassion.
Prime Insights: What role does your hospital play in community healthcare awareness, preventive care, or CSR initiatives?
We believe that healthcare leadership is not just within the four walls of a hospital. We share a responsibility to build awareness, support preventive care, and help communities access timely and meaningful treatment. Through patient-first approaches and community-facing initiatives, we seek to contribute to stronger trust in the healthcare system and better health outcomes.
Prime Insights: What would you tell new healthcare leaders who want to change the medical field?
I would tell them to build their leadership on three pillars: compassion, competence and consistency. Healthcare is a field where strategy matters but so does empathy. The leaders who truly matter are those who stay committed to improving patient lives while also creating systems that are ethical, efficient, and sustainable.
