Covid-19 Vaccination Registration for Kids
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a recent announcement regarding Covid-19 vaccination for kids in India surprisingly on Dec 25. Children within the age of group 15-18 are eligible for vaccination. This vaccination program has to be commenced from January 3.
Few experts are criticising PM’s decision and calling it to be unscientific. Many others are greeting this decision and are in great relief. The Centre has released the recent guidelines regarding vaccination. The usual working procedure summarises the type of vaccine to be used and the systems for booking the slots.
Way to Register Your Children for CoWIN
The Union Health Ministry has notified that people can register their kids through online mode with their current CoWIN account. They also have the second option of registering their kids by creating a new account through their mobile number. This option is for the citizens who are eligible for vaccination currently. Kids can also book their vaccination slots by using their parent’s CoWIN accounts. The date commencement for the registration is from January 1.
Registration of Covid Vaccine Through Student ID
The Centre has stated that vaccination slots for children belonging to the age of 15-18 years can be booked either from the existing account or a new one through a unique mobile number registered. The identification documents for the eligible kids for booking the slots have yet to be announced by the Government.
Are Kids Below 18 Years Eligible for vaccination?
The Union Health Ministry has mentioned the clear guidelines regarding eligibility criteria for the kids to be registered for CoWIN. As ooer the guidelines, children born on or before 2007 can only get registered for the CoWIN vaccine. People can register their kids by themselves either through their existing CoWIN account or can create a new one.
Is CoWIN Vaccine Safe for the Children?
In India, the Drugs Controller General of India has authorized children between 12 to 18 years to get vaccinated with Covaxin (developed jointly by Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research for emergency usage. The company based in Hyderabad has earlier provided the data regarding clinical trials on the kids belonging to the 2-18 age group to Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, Subject matter committee of whose has recommended Covaxin dosage for 12-18 years old children. As per Centre’ guidelines, children belonging to 15-18 years of age will get vaccinated.

- Open your mobile app and enter your registered mobile number in it.
- Put the OTP that you received once and click further for verification.
- You will see the registration page.
- Fill in all the details as demanded such as name, age, gender etc.
- Attach the needed documents.
- Click on the register button for registration.
- Pick the healthcare centre and fix the appointment for the available date.
