Aayushi Bhargava | Media Artists Group
Did you know that in the high-stakes world of Hollywood, talent agents are often affectionately (and sometimes terrifyingly) called “10 percenters”? While that nickname comes from their standard commission, it doesn’t even begin to cover the 100% of the late-night negotiations, script-reading marathons, and fierce advocacy they pour into their clients’ careers. In an industry where 2025 has seen global media revenues soar toward $3 trillion, the competition isn’t just about who has the most followers; it’s a strategic “tech-meets-talent” battleground where specialized agents act as the ultimate gatekeepers to the next big streaming sensation or box-office blockbuster.
In the high-stakes arena of global entertainment, the talent representation industry has entered a transformative era. Following the historic strikes and the pandemic’s “strategic reset,” the market is now defined by a shift toward quality over quantity. Major studios and streaming giants like Netflix and Apple TV+ are navigating cautious spending models, making the role of a talent agent more critical than ever. The challenge lies in advocating for diverse voices across emerging markets in the UK, India, and South Asia, where the demand for authentic, cross-cultural storytelling is at an all-time high.

Prime Insights: Can you introduce your company and share its core mission and vision with our readers?
I am a Talent Agent based in Los Angeles, California, working with Media Artists Group. My core mission is to bring opportunities for talent across film, television, and emerging global markets. Our vision is to create an inclusive environment where performers have a chance to be seen and heard regardless of their background or where they come from.
Prime Insights: Could you briefly walk us through your professional journey and your current role as a business leader?
My journey began in the entertainment business as a journalist where I had the chance to meet a variety of people. I saw the market for untapped talent and the need to represent those who have immense talent but needed the right doors to open for them to showcase their prowess. Which led me to talent representation – a path where I discovered my strength that lay in not just deal-making but also in advocacy for such talent. I help guide clients’ careers while also playing a key role in the company’s global expansion, including into the UK, India, and South Asia.
Prime Insights: What inspired you to take the path of leadership, and what do you believe makes you stand out as an iconic leader?
The path of leadership was unplanned. I worked towards what I believed in and found myself on the path of leadership where I was fortunate enough to work under people who recognized my ability to truly believe in others and my eye for choosing the right talent. An iconic leader is someone who doesn’t operate from ego and understands that those who work under them have just as much a role to play in their success as those who work alongside them.
Prime Insights: Balancing professional and personal responsibilities can be demanding. How do you manage this equilibrium?
Having a good personal life is important in order to have a successful professional life. I try to make time for myself and my family without compromising on any career opportunities. It’s essential to have boundaries in the industry so you don’t burn yourself out.
Prime Insights: What defining challenges or pivotal moments have shaped your leadership journey so far?
One pivotal moment was being trusted with high-stakes clients and international expansion early in my career. Hollywood has witnessed a hard time over the past few years from a pandemic to writers’ and actors’ strikes. While in the moment it felt like it would take a long time to bounce back from such situations, it all came down to taking things one day at a time. It is when you’re faced with challenges do you realize the need for reset and recharge. Navigating complex negotiations, cultural differences, and time-sensitive decisions forced me to grow quickly. Those moments taught me resilience, confidence, and the importance of preparation.
Prime Insights: Which industries or sectors do you significantly influence, and are there any notable collaborations you’d like to highlight?
I primarily work within film, television, and entertainment, but my influence extends into global branding and international co-productions. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with major Hollywood studios like Lionsgate, Paramount, Warner Bros, streaming platforms like Netflix, Apple TV+, Hulu, to name a few, and award-winning creatives, as well as negotiating endorsement deals with global brands. I have clients on TV shows such as Tehran, Law & Order, High Potential, Law & Order, Matlock, and movies like Song Sung Blue, The Odyssey, The Revenge La Llorona, and the latest Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
Prime Insights: How do you ensure your company adapts to evolving markets, disruptions, and consumer needs?
One thing about the industry is that it’s always changing and evolving. It all depends on the audiences and their tastes. It’s important to stay aware of the different trends across generations and global markets. As you get older, you have to understand how the newer generations think and what they want to see – whether that means exploring new territories, embracing diverse storytelling, or adjusting traditional business models.
Prime Insights: What role do iconic business leaders play in shaping global entrepreneurship and economic transformation?
Iconic leaders redefine what’s possible and they are proof that if one person can achieve it, then many others can too. They challenge norms, create opportunity, and inspire others to think beyond limitations. It’s not just about profit, good leadership shapes industries, economies, and future generations of entrepreneurs.
Prime Insights: What guidance would you offer to aspiring leaders facing challenges or societal expectations?
Don’t shrink yourself to fit other people’s expectations or even the limitations you or your environment might have imposed upon you. When you lead with authenticity, stay disciplined, and trust your instincts, the right opportunities show up for you. Challenges are what make the journey fun and show you what you’re capable of.
Prime Insights: Could you share your vision for the future of your company and the industry at large?
My vision is to continue expanding globally while championing diverse, authentic talent. I see an industry that is more inclusive, internationally connected, and creatively fearless and I intend for our company to be at the forefront of that transformation.
Prime Insights: Finally, what message would you like to leave with our readers about leadership, legacy, and inspiring the next generation?
An iconic leader leads by example. It’s less about telling people what to do, and more about showing them how to do it. We have to understand and be grateful for the people who meet you along the way whether they work under, above, or alongside you. They each hold something invaluable. If the next generation feels more empowered, more represented, and more inspired because of your work, then you’ve created a legacy worth remembering.
