Prime Insights: Could you give us an overview of your organisation and your role in driving its growth and excellence?
My firm, Posimind Consulting, founded in 2004, is a technologydriven, innovative Executive Search and Headhunting firm. We structure our services across three core verticals: executive search, HR services, and Reposing. As the Managing Partner, I oversee the entire operation. My primary strategy for ensuring growth and excellence is through a structured leadership model focused on empowerment. I strategically bring highly experienced expert leaders on board for each vertical—such as a General Manager from a multinational company for Resourcing—and grant them the autonomy and accountability necessary to manage their units independently, ensuring the company’s continuous forward momentum.
Prime Insights: What inspired your leadership journey, and how did you begin your professional path in Pune’s corporate ecosystem?
My leadership journey is a testament to determination, starting as a village girl in rural Maharashtra. Despite facing initial setbacks, including rejection due to a rural accent and limited English, I remained undeterred. My professional path involved embracing numerous odd jobs—from selling banking products door-to-door, packaging vegetables, and selling homecooked food, to working as a sales in-charge at a car dealership. These early experiences proved I was fundamentally a“people person.” I eventually transitioned into executive search, my true calling, purely through networking. The inspiration to found Posimind Consulting stemmed from the crucial moment when I decided I had to take the entrepreneurial leap and give myself a chance to succeed on my own terms.
Prime Insights: What key challenges have you faced as a woman leader, and how did you navigate them?
I navigated significant challenges. Initially, I faced rejection based on my background, which I overcame through dedicated self improvement, ultimately leading to a successful international recruiting role for a US education institution in 2014. A more persistent challenge was the initial lack of trust from some companies, who doubted my capability specifically because of my gender. I successfully overcame this by focusing fiercely on my core values: demonstrating unwavering commitment, deep industry knowledge, and intense passion for my work. This approach built the robust client trust that sustains my business today. I also acknowledge that balancing work and family responsibilities has been an ongoing difficulty throughout my career.
Prime Insights: How has your leadership style evolved over the years?
My leadership style is inherently structured. Over the years, it has matured into a philosophy centered on trust and empowerment. I have built a team of seasoned professionals and delegate significant responsibility, ensuring they lead through both accountability and autonomy. My success mantra is consistency: I believe that by remaining consistent in my approach, the team naturally grows and develops. The ultimate measure of my evolved style is whenthe team feels genuine ownership, leading to the perception that the organization is truly their own.
Prime Insights: What distinguishes your approach from other leaders in your industry?
My approach is set apart by its foundation of absolute client trust and relationshipbuilding. For the last 23 years, I have not utilized formal marketing tools; my success, including placing top-tier leadership across global corporations in the US, Indonesia, and the Middle East, has been driven entirely by word-of-mouth. Furthermore, my leadership is defined by a deep commitment to social responsibility and my roots. This manifests in our plan to launch a new training vertical that wil provide free professional development to school children in my native village, fostering the next generation of small-town entrepreneurs.
Prime Insights: Could you share any milestone achievements that have shaped your leadership career?
Key achievements include completing the HR Auditor course from IIM Ahmedabad, establishing Posimind Consulting in 2004, and subsequently expanding our reach, including an office in Singapore. Professionally, a major milestone was discovering my calling in headhunting and succeeding purely through networking Personally, overcoming the early languageskills rejection and earning the opportunity to recruit senior leaders for a reputed US institution was a defining turning point. My most enduring achievement is having built a globally recognized firm that operates successfully on the principle of client trust alone.
Prime Insights: How do you ensure continuous innovation and excellence within your organisation?
I ensure continuous innovation and xcellence by embodying a mindset of perpetual learning and restless improvement—I am a “professional headhunter constantly seeking new things.” I maintain that complacency is a mistake; despite being grateful for our success, I am perpetually looking for new things to build or areas to enhance. Structurally, excellence is maintained by deliberately placing seasoned, expert leaders at the head of each service vertical and giving them the space and tools they need to operate at the highest level.
Prime Insights: What strategies do you follow to stay ahead in a rapidly changing business environment?
To stay ahead, I rely on the anchors of personal commitment, knowledge, and passion. We maintain agility by servicing a wide array of industries, including extensive work in real estate and pharma. Crucially, we actively help client companies expand their operations into international markets, particularly Dubai, demonstrating our ability to meet complex, global business demands.
We help to attract good talent for our clients in international markets.
Prime Insights: How do you maintain a balance between your personal and professional responsibilities?
I recognize that balancing work and family has been a challenge. My method for navigating this difficulty over the years has been to remain focused on my three nonnegotiable core values: personal commitment, knowledge, and passion, which guide my time allocation and priorities.
Prime Insights: What role do mentorship and team empowerment play in your leadership philosophy?
Team empowerment is foundational to my philosophy. I intentionally hire the right, expert leaders and then grant them the autonomy to operate their verticals and make decisions. This structured empowerment, linked directly to accountability, fosters a highly motivated team that feels true ownership, leading to shared success. I believe this structure encourages growth and success at every level of the organization.
Prime Insights: How do you contribute to uplifting other women professionals in your industry or organization?
I draw inspiration from every woman working around me as a leader or entrepreneur. I promote women within my own organization, symbolically partnering with my daughter in the venture. Most tangibly, I contribute to the next generation by investing in my community: I am establishing a new training vertical dedicated to providing free professional development for school children in my home village, aiming to build future women entrepreneurs from small towns.
Prime Insights: What impact has Pune’s dynamic corporate culture had on your growth as a leader?
The provided interview content does not detail the specific impact of Pune’s corporate culture on my growth. My professional narrative focuses primarily on my transition from rural Maharashtra, my international experience, and my client base which is spread across India and globally.
Prime Insights: How do you integrate sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility into your leadership vision?
Ethics are naturally integrated through my business model; our 23 years of success are proof of the ethical integrity required to operate solely on client trust and wordof mouth. Social responsibility is a key pillar, demonstrated by my unwavering commitment to my roots. I am launching a training vertical to provide free professional development to school children in my village, fulfilling my vision of giving back and cultivating future leadership.
Prime Insights: What future plans or goals do you have for your organisation and your leadership journey?
My primary organizational goal is the full launch of our major new training vertical, which will provide work-of-art services to clients in India, the US, and Dubai. For my personal leadership journey, the goal is constant improvement; I am deeply grateful for what I have achieved, but I will continue to seek new things to build or improve, believing that remaining in a learning phase is essential for sustained success.
Prime Insights: Finally, what message would you like to share with Prime Insights readers and aspiring women leaders?
My core message is one of perseverance and continuous growth. Remember that determination is often born in the quietest trials of life—your challenges are where your strength is forged. Be a professional who is constantly seeking new things and always in a learning phase. Above all, find success through consistency: remain true to your commitment, knowledge, and passion, and empower those around you so they feel the organization’s success is their own.
