I am Dr. Harigovind Pothiyedath, Chief Consultant Urologist and Renal Transplant Surgeon with over 35 years of experience in urology. My expertise spans kidney transplantation, robotic and laser surgeries for prostate and stones, reconstructive urology, female and pediatric urology, and uro-oncology. I have received advanced training in laparoscopic, endourological, and robotic techniques from reputed international institutions.

Urology fascinated me because it combines surgical innovation with meaningful patient recovery. Over the decades, my journey grew from academic practice to building one of Kerala’s most advanced centers for transplantation, robotic, and laser-based urological care, blending precision, compassion, and innovation.

Key milestones include performing over 1,000 successful kidney transplants and more than 4,000 laser surgeries for prostate and stone diseases. I have pioneered ultra-mini and supine PCNL techniques, advanced robotic and reconstructive urology, and established one of Kerala’s leading centers for comprehensive urological excellence.

I have incorporated robotic surgery systems, 3D laparoscopy, HoLEP, and Thulium laser surgery, and advanced endourological methods like RIRS, mini-PCNL, and ECIRS. These technologies highly enhance surgical precision, reduce recovery time, and improve long-term outcomes, particularly in uro-oncology and transplant surgery.
