Eco Pallet Pvt. Ltd.
Every single year, the global industrial supply chain consumes the wood equivalent of up to 125 million trees just to manufacture pallets. These humble wooden bases are the invisible backbone of modern commerce—about 80% of U.S. commerce is carried on them—yet their ubiquity comes at a huge environmental cost. Pallets are often treated as mere consumables, rapidly moving from factory to landfill, contributing to massive deforestation and waste. In India, the logistics and warehousing sector is expanding quickly, magnifying the pressure on natural resources and intensifying the need for sustainable alternatives in a market traditionally driven by sheer volume and low-cost, conventional materials.
Leading this green revolution is Eco Pallet Pvt. Ltd., a sustainability-first manufacturing company co-founded in 2015 by the visionary entrepreneur Priya Prakash, who serves as its managing director. With a background in commerce and an MBA earned ‘on the roads,’ Prakash’s entrepreneurial story was born from a pivotal question: “Why can’t sustainability be scalable?” Her early experiences in developing innovative, futuristic products set the stage for her mission to disrupt the traditional pallet industry. Despite initial challenges like limited capital and skepticism around sustainable materials, Prakash’s persistence and focus on innovation have led to a US patent application—a major milestone that transitioned India from an importer to an innovator in this global space—and established her as a genuine business leader committed to a powerful circular economy message.
Eco Pallet’s core innovation lies in its patented EcoLife Pallet technology. The company replaces traditional timber by using post-consumer recycled wood that is hermetically sealed with a proprietary, patent-pending process-oriented spray. This spray creates a surface that is water, chemical, and bacteria resistant, making the pallet stronger and more durable and ensuring it contributes zero landfill waste. Furthermore, the integration of technology, like embedded RFID chips and digital asset leasing through their group arm PalletXchange, transforms the pallet from a consumable into a traceable, revenue-generating, and highly visible asset that meets the needs of Industry 4.0.
In the spotlight is Priya Prakash, Managing Director, in an exclusive interview for our prestigious “COMPANY OF THE YEAR 2025” edition. Learn from her insights and valuable lessons as an entrepreneur to excel and build a best-in-class company. Stay tuned and know her tale of success.
