One never knows what the other person has to offer. “All I can tell you is to never stop dreaming, never stop working for it whole heartedly. Having met numerous entrepreneurs throughout the years, Dr. Rao feels a common mistake that almost every entrepreneur makes is undermining his/her competitor’s capabilities. He says, “You don’t need to be in your twenties to be an entrepreneur. Using your work experience would be a good starter for being on your own. Also, no entrepreneur is simply born with all that they need to be successful because a lot of people think that entrepreneurship comes from innate talent. Entrepreneurs hone the skills and talents they need to succeed. Talent is nothing but passion made into a habit.”
Touching upon the other essentials of entrepreneurial success, he says that two things have kept his motivation levels high over the years. The first is learning from his mistakes and the second is never taking failures or success too seriously.
Balancing Personal and Professional life as an Entrepreneur
Having the time and energy for your personal life while being an entrepreneur can sound like a far fetched dream. Having been one for nearly two decades, Mr. Rao understands how quickly an entrepreneur’s personal and professional responsibilities start to clash.
From his experience, setting one’s priorities straight and maintaining a healthy work-life balance from the start are of paramount importance. “ I learned very early on that it is necessary to maintain a good work-life balance to keep me productive, as it is just as important for the well-being of those around us. The more people in the workplace or at home rely on us, the more important it is for us to be successful. It doesn’t just mean making a lot of money.” He said.
Dr. Rao’s Golden Nuggets for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
With Verch Consulting , Dr. Rao has had a rich experience of almost two decades in the industry.Here’s some advice he has for budding entrepreneurs:
“ All I can say is explore the entrepreneurial journey. It is worthwhile you don’t have to start big…start small and probably while managing your active careers and scale it up. Starting your business is like planting a sapling. First, you have to invest your time and money. Then, you must take care of it while expecting nothing in return. But when your startup blossoms, it makes for all the patience and hard work worthwhile. I’m this journey I can most certainly assure you that you will see challenges. But when you see failures..see it as the beginning and the middle, but never entertain it as an end. Most importantly don’t get distracted. Never tell yourself that you need to be the biggest brand in the whole world. Start by working on what you need at the present moment and then what you need to do tomorrow. My message to the readers is ..one step at a time. Set yourself manageable targets.”
