Operation Sindoor
On April 22, 2025, terrorists stormed the popular tourist spot in Pahalgam and targeted and killed the Indian tourists, especially the Hindus. The terrorists asked the victims for their names and religion and forced them to recite Islamic verses. They also asked the victims to remove their pants to identify the non-Muslims. 26 people were killed during this terrorist attack. Syed Adil Hussain Shah, a local Muslim horse rider, lost his life defending tourists while disarming an attacker. This was a day of sadness for all Indians across the globe. Every Indian’s blood boiled for justice towards such heinous crimes by these terrorists.
Operation Sindoor is the response to the Pahalgam massacre in the early hours of May 7. Operation Sindoor was launched by coordinating military strikes to target terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as well as Pakistan. India struck nine locations linked to terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), and all nine strikes were carefully measured, focused, and non-escalatory.
All the nine strikes were deliberately planned to avoid targeting civilians.
The main targets were –
- Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur (JeM)
- Markaz Taiba, Muridke (LeT)
- Sarjal, Tehra Kalan (JeM)
- Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot (HM)
- Markaz Ahle Hadith, Barnala (LeT)
- Markaz Abbas, Kotli (JeM)
- Maskar Raheel Shahid, Kotli (HM)
- Shawai Nalla Camp, Muzaffarabad (LeT)
- Syedna Bilal Camp, Muzaffarabad (JeM)
Pakistan Backtracks on PoW Claims
Initially, after the success of Operation Sindoor, Pakistan’s defense minister, Khawaja Asif, declared that three Indian soldiers had been captured and taken as prisoners of war. This statement created a huge conflict. However, in just a few minutes, Khawaja Asif retracted his statement, admitting the falsehood of his initial comment. He admitted that no Indian soldiers were captured, but later on, he proclaimed that Indian troops had abandoned their post, which again was a baseless claim.
The Aftermath
Operation Sindoor is a representation of India’s military capability and response towards the brutal massacre of the citizens in Kashmir by the terrorists. After the strike, both nations are now on high alert. A constant artillery exchange is being witnessed, and the global call for restraint is being requested by other countries.
