Jake Ohama | RABBITWARREN ANIMATION STUDIOS PTE LTD
“Our message is very simple. At our core, we are one. There is no need to fight on this small planet. By respecting one another and choosing not to harm each other, we can all experience true abundance.”
Life is not meant to be driven by fear or anxiety, but rather by unconditional love and an open heart—through which we can experience boundless abundance. Along the way, unexpected setbacks and hardships are inevitable. What matters most is staying calm in the face of adversity and moving forward with a positive mindset, adapting and flowing with life’s currents.
These words come from a visionary entrepreneur whose mission is to spread only love for the very existence of humanity—using the powerful medium of storytelling to awaken hearts, bridge divides, and inspire a more compassionate world.
In a recent interview with Prime Insights Magazine, Mr. Jake Ohama, the Founder and CEO of RABBITWARREN ANIMATION STUDIOS PTE LTD, talked to us about the power of storytelling through animation that can bring peace and harmony throughout the world. We are elated to share the inspiring story of his organization under the edition, “The 10 Most Visionary Animation Studios Crafting Futuristic Narratives in 2025”
Prime Insights: A very warm welcome to you, sir. We are delighted to have you with us today and look forward to an engaging conversation. To begin, could you kindly share with us what the factors were that impelled you to start your entrepreneurial journey?
The most important factor in creating a business that is future-sighted is understanding how we have lived our lives so far and, more importantly, what vision and mission will guide us into the future. Even before it happened, we foresaw that February 22, 2022, would mark a crucial turning point for Earth. On that day, our team traveled to Hiroshima, where we drafted and proclaimed the “UNCONDITIONABLE PROJECT” to the world. It will be helpful if you could also add a link to our project so users can read through it as well. (https://unconditionable.org/).
So as I was talking about Hiroshima, we all know that this city carries the weight of history—one that has experienced the horrors of nuclear destruction and stands as a symbol of eternal world peace. Likewise, throughout history, humanity has placed conditions on one another, defining people by our own measures and making judgments based on those conditions. That is why we have deeply contemplated the meaning of “unconditional love” and believe that reclaiming an “Unconditionable Heart” may ultimately be the key to saving this planet. This universal truth is the very mission of our project.
Just two days after our declaration, on February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. plunging the world once again into the fear and chaos of war. At that moment, we felt that our message was being put to the ultimate test—proving just how essential an “Unconditionable Heart” is for the future of our world.
To ensure this message reaches as many people as possible—and is passed down for generations, even for centuries—we realized that it needed to be told through a compelling, deeply meaningful story. A story that allows people to experience the essence of life on Earth through analogies and metaphors. That is why we created our animation project, “RABBITWARREN”—the very first chapter of our journey.
With a mission of to remind people around the world about the aforementioned message, through the power of animated storytelling, RABITWARREN is creating a difference with their animated video ‘For Unconditionable Hearts’
Prime Insights: What inspired you to establish the studio, and what gap in futuristic narratives were you aiming to fill?
As we’ve already shared about our background, we are not just an animation studio. Economic success through business is a secondary effect—what matters most is how deeply our animations can leave a lasting impression on people’s hearts. Fifteen or thirty years from now, if the messages and themes from RABBITWARREN, which people once watched casually, can become a small source of courage in their lives around the world… that, we believe, is our true mission.
As recent studies in astrophysics have begun to reveal, it is becoming increasingly likely that we are living in a parallel reality where the past, present, and future all exist simultaneously. This challenges the deeply rooted belief that our lives are short and finite—offering an incredibly exciting perspective. Of course, no one truly knows the ultimate truth. But at the very least, rather than viewing everything solely through the narrow lens of this small planet, perhaps adopting a broader, cosmic perspective—from our solar system or even our galaxy—might offer insights into how we should live on Earth. We hope that our stories can serve as a small spark to awaken that kind of awareness. “
Prime Insights: How is your studio redefining what a “futuristic narrative” means, and what sets you apart from other animation houses?
We believe that a ‘futuristic narrative’ is about redefining the concept of ‘now.’ From the perspective of quantum physics, the past, present, and future all exist simultaneously in the ‘now, here.’
As expressed in my song ‘Now Here—Focus On Now,’ our reality is made up entirely of a continuous stream of ‘now’ moments—an eternal state of the present. While it’s commonly believed that time flows from the past to the future, we see it differently. In truth, what we experience as ‘time on Earth’ is just a localized phenomenon, and when viewed on a galactic scale, the concept of time as we know it begins to dissolve.
We believe that the past, present, and future coexist in the ‘now here,’ and that the experiences available to each person on Earth shift according to their individual consciousness, beliefs, and vibrational frequency.
Our project, ‘RABBITWARREN’ is a space fantasy that tells an epic story set in a vast parallel world. Its core message is about redefining the ‘now’ and helping people remember the magic of an ‘unconditional heart.’ Through metaphor and analogy, we incorporate real-world struggles and challenges into the animation, allowing viewers to explore every perspective from a neutral standpoint and to find joy in seeing the world through many different lenses.
Prime Insights: Which key films, series, or shorts have become your studio’s flagship works—and why do they resonate in the market?
One of our signature works is “QQQ—Maldek & Quantum Magic.”
To complete a video, a certain level of compromise is always necessary. As I mentioned earlier, we are constantly striving to maximize our message and style within a limited budget. However, many designers on our team tend to get overly fixated on small details or spend too much time on unnecessary scenes, making it incredibly difficult to maintain a proper balance. Every day, we face an ongoing struggle: “How far should we push for quality?”
As a strategic approach, we’ve decided to focus on simple music-based content for RABBITWARREN until we reach around 80 to 100 million subscribers (at least for now). To prepare for that, we’ve added 30- to 40-second story elements at the beginning of each video as “foreshadowing.” However, even this approach was initially met with resistance within the team.
RABBITWARREN’s background story is vast and complex, involving multiple parallel worlds unfolding simultaneously. To put it simply, there is a legend that a planet called Maldek once existed between Jupiter and Mars. However, due to reckless decisions, it destroyed itself in a nuclear war. The explosion had catastrophic effects on the ecosystems of other planets within the same galaxy. Amidst this devastation, a Silver Panther, one of the survivors of Maldek, embarks on a journey to Earth, determined to prevent other planets from making the same mistakes. This is where our entire story begins.
Initially, many team members opposed this storyline, believing it was too complex and not suitable for children. However, after countless discussions and persistent explanations on my part, I was able to convince them.
This led to the creation of “QQQ – Maldek & Quantum Magic,” a video that, thanks to strong word-of-mouth, became a far bigger hit than we had expected. Even now, its view count continues to rise steadily.
It may be precisely because of the internal struggles and trial and error we went through that we were ultimately able to achieve results beyond what we had originally imagined.
Once we reach 80 million subscribers, we plan to fully dive into large-scale storytelling. At that point, we will significantly increase our budget and expand into TV shows, streaming media, films, games, picture books, and more.
Prime Insights: Can you share one or two marketing or promotional campaigns that significantly propelled your studio’s visibility?
We are still in the experimental phase, and therefore, we don’t consider ourselves successful yet. The videos we’ve released are also still in the testing stage, so we haven’t fully analyzed why some of them have been well received.
That said, as I mentioned in a previous question, videos like ‘QQQ – Maldek & Quantum Magic’ and ‘Baby Nin Nin Austria’ continue to gain views steadily. And from the start, content like ‘La La La Skunks’ seemed to receive a relatively high rate of likes and positive reactions.
Prime Insights: What are your studio’s key objectives for the next 12 months in terms of projects, markets, or technological advances?
Our immediate goal is to surpass 50 million subscribers. Additionally, we are planning to experiment with visual styles and artistic approaches that differ from the 2D CG techniques we’ve used so far.
Prime Insights: What one piece of advice would you give to aspiring animation studios aiming to make a lasting impact with visionary, futuristic narratives?
Animation is truly a world that reflects your own consciousness and frequency. It begins with taking on challenges that genuinely excite you—those fueled by passion and a true desire to accomplish something meaningful. Trust in the timing and natural flow of your life, and allow yourself to ride that wave with openness. When you view Earth within the vastness of the galaxy, it becomes clear how small our planet really is. How foolish it seems, then, to harm one another on such a tiny speck in the cosmos.
There is no obstacle too great to overcome. Reflecting on my own journey, I have encountered failures, betrayals, and deep despair—even from those closest to me. Yet, one truth has remained constant: our struggles and hardships are the very things that fuel creativity and spark real growth. They hold the most valuable clues to our ultimate success. And through it all, everything we endure is a reminder to the world of the power of “Unconditionable Hearts.”
