Innomac Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd. is a market leader in India in construction-related equipment, with its head office and factory in Bangalore, Karnataka. The company has branch offices in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Kolkata and dealers in Cochin, Bhubaneshwar, Nasik and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Their mission is to bring about transformation in the construction and infrastructure industry through advanced technological innovations, leading to reliable, maintenance free and safer machines that are the very best in the industry.
The journey of Innomac started with the manufacturing of construction-related equipment in 2018 with bar-cutting and bar-bending machines. When India was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Innomac Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd. started manufacturing disinfection booths and UV sterilizers. This equipment was supplied to the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. These states successfully got through this difficult phase by the manufacturing potential of such innovative equipment by Innomac.
This was a brief introduction about the company, which we weaved into words after interacting with the dignitary Rajamurthy M. R., the Managing Director of Innomac Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd. For the edition of “Best Company To Work For 2025,” we asked about the qualities of the company’s work culture and how the company invests in the professional growth of its workforce.
Prime Insights: We welcome you sir to our platform and it is a great felicity for us to have you with us. To begin with, can you give us a brief description of your company’s work culture?
We have people working in Innomac from all parts of India and from different religious backgrounds. Our employees are from many different states, working together hand in hand. As we have 7 branches spread across India, we have a very healthy environment in the company, with people interacting happily from various diverse backgrounds and cultures. There is free lunch provided in our factory canteen for all the employees. Talking about the company’s management, the authorities are always dedicated to the upliftment of all the employees and their families. We are always ready and willing to listen to and help the workers to improve their performance to the next level. There are many activities conducted by the management for the workers and their families.
Prime Insights: How does the organization support employees’ professional development and career growth?
We are hyper-focused on keeping our workforce acquainted with technical knowledge of our industry. There are regular training sessions carried out by the company to train the employees in the latest innovations and technologies. The Human Resources Department conducts seminars and workshops where the workers are taught how to handle work pressure, improve performance and work efficiently.
All of our employees have to perform our positioned values: innovation, integrity, knowledge and customer centricity. There is an annual appraisal system to evaluate the performance of the employees and then reward them with an annual salary increment. The best achievers are further rewarded with promotions and other benefits.
Prime Insights: What is the company’s approach to team building, and how are team dynamics fostered?
In our company we have shop floor assemblers, technicians, supervisors, engineers, technical staff, sales staff, office staff and managers. Every day is started with a prayer and meditation session where all the employees participate. This helps in developing and fostering teamwork and a positive attitude. Regular events are held in the company where all the employees and their families are invited. Every month there is a cake-cutting ceremony for the employees whose birthdays are there in that month.
Prime Insights: How does the company respond to and overcome failures or setbacks?
Failures are seen as the stepping stone for success. These bring us important learning lessons that are utilized in the later stages of learning and evolving as a professional. So we take them positively and motivate our workforce to find better solutions to the problem or challenge statement.
Prime Insights: What is the company’s approach to ensuring work-life balance for its employees? What are some activities conducted at your company for team building?
To strike a fine balance to ensure work-life balance for our employees, we operate only a general day shift in our office and factory. Proper care is taken so that there are sufficient sick leaves, casual leaves and annual leaves for all the workers.
Every year we have an annual meet at our head office in Bangalore, where all the employees of Innomac (head office, factory and branches) meet for 5 days. During this meet, the company conducts training sessions by the technical department, motivational sessions, and performance evaluations, followed by an overnight stay at a resort.
On our Independence Day (August 15), there is a full-day program for the employees and their family members, with breakfast and lunch. There are different activities conducted for the family members and the children, followed by price distribution.
Prime Insights: Do the company’s different departments collaborate effectively? Can you share examples of successful cross-departmental initiatives?
Every day there is a cross-functional team meeting for around 30 minutes, where the different department heads meet with the general manager to discuss and collaborate on activities so that all the functions of the company are mutually and effectively performed.
Prime Insights: Can you help us walk through some of the significant milestones the organization has achieved in its history?
Our company was started at the end of 2018, and our first sale happened in December. In the first year our total business was Rs. 89 lakhs. In the period of the last 6 years, we have achieved appreciable growth and an increase in turnover. In the year 2024/25, we have crossed a turnover of 60 crores. Prime Insights: Is the company’s strategic approach more driven by processes or results?
We believe that if there are proper processes in place, then the desired end results will come automatically. This is why we primarily focus on the team members being proactive, dynamic, devoted, and dedicated and having the determination to excel in their work.
Prime Insights: Can you walk us through the What are the company’s roadmap and future plans for growth and innovation?
Innomac started with 10 employees, but now our staff has reached 148 employees. We take pride in achieving market leader position by getting orders from India’s largest and best construction companies like L&T, Shapoorji Paloonji, NCC Ltd., KEC Ltd., Shoba Ltd., Kalpatru Group, Brigade Group and many more companies. We have also exported our equipment to Dubai, African countries and China.
Our business plan for 2025/26 is to cross a turnover of Rs. 100 crores. To achieve this, we are going to have new dealers in Indore, Jaipur, Patna, Gawahati and Nagpur. We are adding new products like twin-cage passenger-cum-material hoists and self-loading concrete mixer trucks.
Our goal and business targets for the next 3 years are
- 2026/27 projected turnover is Rs. 150 crores.
- 2027/28 projected turnover is Rs. 225 crores.
- 2028/29 projected turnover is Rs. 300 crores.
To achieve the above figures, the company plans to focus on export business of 2%, 5%, and 8% of the total business in the above-mentioned years.
Prime Insights: What advice would you offer to emerging entrepreneurs aiming to build a trusted brand in their respective industries?
I feel today’s young entrepreneurs have a big vision in mind and are also preparing to accept a lot of failures, rejections, and bad luck in the journey of becoming successful. In this process, there is only one rule of success that they should admire, and that is never give up. During my business journey, I observed a many of industries failing because they were not changing with time. Traditional products and traditional patterns of doing business will not have a long life and big success. Continuous research of market research of the product and the needs of the customer should be considered for making a trusted business brand.
