1) Sundar Pichai

  • Perhaps the most well-known global CEO of Indian origin, Sundar Pichai, became the head of Google, probably the 21st-century company in 2019. In 1972 in Madurai, he was born in India and then graduated in metallurgical engineering from the distinguished Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur. Next, he did his masters in material science from the Ivy League Stanford University and then MBA from the Wharton School from Pennsylvania University. He joined Google in 2004 and then made significant contributions to many ideas like Google Maps, Android, Search, Chrome, Google+, commerce and ads, and Google Apps. 

2) Satya Nadella

  • Satya Nadella, the poster boy from Hyderabad, made the country proud when he became the CEO of the global tech giant, Microsoft in 2014. He was born in 1967 and then acquired a degree in electrical engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology. After that, he did his MS in computer science from the University of Winconsin and later an MBA from the University of Chicago. He first joined Sun Microsystems, and after joining Microsoft in 1992, he quickly rose through the ranks and headed Microsoft search engine Bing, Microsoft Office, and gaming device Xbox Live. 

3) Arvind Krishna

  • Arvind Krishna is another top boy in the technology industry, appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the giant American IT giant, IBM. Born in Andhra Pradesh, Krishna finished his Bachelors’s in electrical engineering from the IIT Kanpur. He accomplished his doctorate from the University of Urbana Champaign. Before taking up the CEO position, he served as the senior vice president of Cloud and Cognitive software at the same company.

4) Shantanu Narayen

  • Shantanu Narayen is another big corporate boy from Hyderabad. He passed out a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from the world-class Osmania University in Hyderabad. Then Narayen did MS in computer science from the Bowling Green State University and Master of Business Administration from the University of California’s business school. In 1998, he joined Adobe Company and became the CEO in 2007. Shantanu commenced his career from doing product development jobs at Silicon Graphics and Apple. 

5) AjayPalSingh Banga

  • Born in Pune, Ajay Pal Singh Banga did his schooling from different parts of the country, since his father was in the military. He undertook his graduation in economics from the prestigious St Stephens College in Delhi University. After graduation, he completed his MBA from the top class Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He commenced his career at Nestle India in 1981 as a management trainee. After working at top-class firms like KFC and Pizza Hut, he joined Master Card in 2009, and in 2010, he became the CEO of the MasterCard.

6) Rajeev Suri

  • Rajeev Suri was born in Delhi in 1967 and did his bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology in 1989. He commenced his career at Calcom Electronics as a production engineer. He joined the Finish mobile maker giant Nokia in 1995 and worked very hard in the same office. He attained the CEO of Nokia in 2014 and was instrumental in helping the firm reach 10 billion euros in revenue.

7) Nikesh Arora

  • Nikesh Arora was designated as the CEO of Paolo Alto Networks in 2018. He was born in UP in 1968 and finished his engineering from IIT BHU. He then did his MBA from North Eastern University in the USA. After briefly working with other firms, he commenced his career with Wipro and joined Google as a chief business officer. He was with Google for nine years and then entered Softbank as a Chief Operating Officer and President. Finally, in 2018, he left Softbank for Paolo Alto networks, designated as a CEO.

8) Sandeep Mathrani

  • Sandeep Mathrani is the latest addition to the long list of global CEO of Indian origin. He is the new CEO of WeWork in 2020. He finished his Bachelor of engineering, master of engineering, and M.S. in Management Sciences, from the Stevens Institute of Technology. He has innumerable years of work experience in the retail sector, like serving as the CEO of Brookefield Properties Retail. Before that, he was the MD of General Growth Properties. Mathrani also has experience working as an executive VP at Forest City Ranter.
