The Amazon Day Delivery

American giant, Amazon, recently launched a new delivery feature for its Prime members. The feature called ‘Amazon Day Delivery’ allows Prime members to select a weekly delivery day for the products they would like to purchase.

Apart from this feature, members can always opt for Prime’s free shipping at the time of check-out.

The Amazon Day Delivery feature also enables the members to make group purchases that will be delivered together.

This not only reduces carbon emissions (through fewer trips to the delivery location) but also ensures lesser contact during the pandemic.

With this new feature, Amazon has sustainability initiatives to help achieve “Shipment Zero”.

Shipment Zero is Amazon’s global vision to transform all of its shipments into net-zero carbon. The company aims at turning 50% of its shipments net-zero by 2030, sources reveal.

The Amazon Day Delivery option is available only for its Prime members in the check-out section. Upon clicking this option, the user gets to select the day that is convenient for them.

To avail of this option, the members, however, must ensure that they opt for the Amazon Day Delivery option instead of the free Prime delivery one.

The eligibility of these features is only applicable on select items. However, Amazon claims that most of its items are available for Prime Delivery that can also be ordered with Amazon Day. Moreover, users also get the option to change their Amazon Day anytime, at their convenience.

Director of the Prime & Delivery Experience, Amazon India, Mr. Akshay Sahi stated, “With ‘Amazon Day Delivery’, members in India can plan their deliveries to suit their personal weekly schedule, and rest easy knowing that their orders will arrive safely on the same day each week.”

Users can also place an order up to two days before the Amazon Day Delivery, as per their requirements. With Amazon Day Delivery, the e-commerce giant is hopeful of reducing carbon emissions through fewer delivery trips. This is a great initiative considering the grave global warming issue

It is also important to remember that this shipping program is not a replacement for Amazon’s same-day, one-day, two-day, and no-rush shipping policies. Users can still select the most suitable delivery option for each order.

Currently, Amazon’s market value is more than $1.7 trillion. It garnered a whopping $386 billion in 2020 from successful operations in the e-commerce, artificial intelligence, streaming media, cloud computing, groceries, etc.

Thanks to Amazon’s successful endeavors, Founder & CEO Jeff Bezos has become the first-ever person to be worth $200 billion.
