Tirang Sports Management LLP
“We realized very early on that, like first-world countries, world-class sports facilities/venues do not have to be limited only to a central place like large stadiums but should be present in localities for maximum participation in sports and driving the sports culture.”
Ayush Garg, who is an ex-national Badminton player, designated as the Managing Director at Tirang Sports Management, completed his postgraduate studies in the UK and later gained a thorough amount of corporate experience in India. Juggling between his professional pursuits and his urge to continue recreational sport, he realised the unavailability of world-class sports infrastructure in schools and colleges. He also understood that a highly unorganized sports industry setup has led to India lagging behind in both professional sports and recreational sports. After identifying this gap, he started working with schools to upgrade their current infrastructure into world-class sports infrastructure and operate it during non-school hours.
This idea, coupled with his entrepreneurial passion, led to the inception of Tirang Sports Management, which is now functioning as a full-fledged sports venue development and management company. With our 8+ multi-sports venues in Delhi NCR, the company is making it more accessible to athletes and recreational users.
We had the opportunity to interview the young and dynamic entrepreneur, Mr. Ayush Garg, and learn more about his inspiring journey in the Indian sports ecosystem. During our conversation, we explored what motivated him to venture into this industry and the strategies he envisions for expanding his mission in the years to come. We hope our readers enjoy these insightful glimpses into his entrepreneurial journey as we bring the story of Tirang Sports Management under the edition “The 10 Most Leading Sports Startups in India 2025”.
The Inspiring Journey So Far
Over the past four years, the company has established a strong presence in the sports infrastructure space. In the first three years since inception, the team successfully developed three venues dedicated solely to badminton. Since 2024, the portfolio has expanded to include five major sports—badminton, padel, pickleball, box cricket, and football—across eight multi-sport venues in the Delhi NCR region. The team is currently in discussions with 4–5 schools, which are in the pipeline for the financial year 2025.
Major Challenges
Mr. Ayush Garg shares that Tirang Sports faced major challenges due to the rigidity of school management in upgrading sports facilities and a general lack of openness toward the organized sports industry. Additionally, the absence of case studies, mentors, and funding opportunities in the sports venue business posed significant hurdles. But currently the efforts are in full swing to build a sports culture in India by constructing and operating world-class and affordable sports infrastructure accessible to both athletes and recreational users.
Connecting With People for Expansion in Business Operations
To foster strong relationships with athletes, sports organizations, and people in general, Tirang Sports has a strategic approach to it. At the centers there are dedicated community managers and venue managers whose primary responsibility is to provide the best hospitality to all the users. In addition to this, regular professional and community events are conducted at the centers to enhance the relationship and engagement.
“We collaborate with schools, colleges, local governments, and private institutions to co-develop multi-sport venues, reducing upfront costs and ensuring long-term usage. Our focus is on tier-1 cities for now, but next year will include tier-2 cities to serve the underserved market.”
Leading the Way With Quality-Driven Experiences
At Tirang Sports, quality is not just a priority—it’s a non-negotiable standard that defines the purpose of the company. From the construction of the company’s sports infrastructure to the training programs being run, it is always ensured that the highest benchmarks are met consistently. Be it using top-grade equipment, hiring the best certified coaches, or maintaining the venue for end customer satisfaction, everything is done with a resolute commitment.
This unwavering commitment to quality has earned us the trust of parents, schools, corporations, and athletes alike. They know that when they engage with Tirang, they’re choosing an environment that’s safe, professional, and truly focused on enhancing sports participation.
Analyzing the Success Numbers With a Customer-Oriented Approach
At Tirang Sports, key success metrics include the number of active players that engage daily, the new sports centers that are being built, and the coaching partnerships being established with schools and communities. The team consistently keeps a check upon customer participation, retention, and performance growth across all age groups. Timely, their feedback is also incorporated for improvement in services.
Continuing further, Mr. Ayush Garg quotes,
“We measure our success not just by numbers but by the impact we create on the ground. The real measure of success is when a child picks up a racket for the first time or when a working professional rediscovers fitness through sport.”
Enlightening Words for New-Age Entrepreneurs
As the interview concluded, our team extended heartfelt thanks to Mr. Ayush Garg for sparing his valuable time and joining us to share his journey. To wrap up the conversation, we asked the distinguished entrepreneur to share a few words of advice from his personal experiences—especially for the new-age entrepreneurs building startups in today’s challenging ecosystem. Here’s what he had to say:
“My advice to budding entrepreneurs in India is simple: focus on solving real problems, stay committed to quality, and be deeply rooted in your community. Don’t chase trends—understand what’s missing on the ground, whether it’s access, affordability, or awareness, and build your solution around that. India is diverse, so a one-size-fits-all model won’t work. Be adaptable and culturally sensitive.
Since the sports industry is small and growing, there are plenty of opportunities present, but one would require a lot of patience to sustain their slow growth till the industry booms, when we will finally match the sports culture and participation of countries like the US, UK, China, Australia and other sporting powerhouses.
Also, never compromise on quality—it builds long-term trust. Collaborate instead of competing, and most importantly, be patient. Building a sports culture takes time, but if your vision is genuine and your execution consistent, the impact will follow.”
